Challenge
The HUBER PACKAGING Group, a leading German manufacturer of metal packaging with a 150-year history, € 180 million in sales and five plants in DACH, Hungary and the UK, was faced with the task of rethinking its position in a fragmented market with increasing concentration pressure from major international groups.
Objective
Developing options for action for the shareholders and bringing about a decision on "Hold or Sell".
Solution
VIRETUM CONSULT worked out various options in cooperation with the management and proposed a limited international bidding process in case of a sale decision. This was planned by VIRETUM CONSULT from A-Z, prepared together with the management and, after approaching predominantly strategic bidders from four continents, carried out with the involvement of Big 5 auditing and renowned law firms.
Challenge
The growth of CCNST, a group of companies specializing in information technology, telecommunications and consumer electronics, reached the limits of the financial possibilities of its owner. The auditing company BFMT Group, which he commissioned with the search for capital, asked VIRETUM CONSULT for support.
Objective
Mediation of capital to finance the strong growth of the CCNST Group.
Solution
VIRETUM CONSULT checked the plausibility of the business plan, worked out a company presentation with the management, addressed potential investors and contributed to a successful conclusion by brokering a credit facility in the double-digit million range.

Nitec Pharma AG needed venture capital for its spin-off from Merck / Darmstadt and the further development of a new drug for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis.
Objective
Funding clinical development and marketing approval.
Solution
Mr. Wiese acted as a shareholder representative of one of the main investors for a period of eight years, during which he supported the management in close cooperation on a series of financing rounds, a merger with the US-American Horizon Pharma Inc. and the subsequent IPO on NASDAQ.
Challenge
After its spin-off from Fraunhofer, Sunbloom Proteins GmbH needed an integrated business and financial plan for the commercialization of a patented technology for the production of plant proteins from sunflower kernels.
Objective
Acquisition of equity, bank loans and subsidies for the construction and the launch of the world's first industrial manufacturing facility of its kind.
Solution
Mr. Wiese supported the founder in completing the business plan and acted as Shadow CFO. As such, he was involved until the conclusion of a successful financing round.

Hanns-Peter Wiese, Dipl.-Kfm., Owner, has more than 25 years of business, corporate finance and M&A experience. Before founding VIRETUM CONSULT, he was a director of a major German bank in the corporate finance department, head of M&A at a corporate finance company, and managing director, general partner and manager of several private equity and venture capital companies.

 

He has carried out over 100 transactions with more than 50 companies in various industries in Germany, Western Europe and the USA. He accompanied a large number of these companies in their business cycles over many years as a sparring partner to the owner or the management or as a member of the supervisory board or advisory board and actively supported them in numerous financings, M&A transactions and IPOs.

 

Mr. Wiese speaks German as his mother tongue, fluent English, conversational French and has basic knowledge of Spanish.
